Subject: Body lift for 96 dakota

Message:
After much searching and only finding one suspention lift for my truck and seeing how much of a hassel it can be I have decided to mabey go with a body lift instead. But before I do I want to get some info. In putting a 3 inch body lift on some rigs the outcome can be a little undesireable i.e. huge gap inbetween the body and the frame that is clearly visable. sometimes it pretty hoaky looking. How does it look on the 96 dakota? Another question is where is some good places on the internet I can I find a 3 inch bodylift for a 96 dakota if possible.

Is it very hard putting on a body lift by yourself or would it be worth the money to have it done by a shop? What are steps for putting on a body lift if its possible to do it on youe own.

I installed the 2inch PA body lift on my '95 Dak Sport 4x4 by myself. It wasn't hard, just be sure to go slow and stay safe. Everything went smoothly for me, the only tricky parts were getting the fan shroud trimmed enough and I should probably make an adjustment to the tranny shifter lever. There is some interference with the boot and it sometimes pops out of 2,4, and R. No big deal, I just keep my hand on the shifter until I'm ready to go into 1,3, or 5.
