I have been leaking some sort of fluid onto my driveway. Which is bad. So I look under the truck and since I cleaned off all the oil a week or so ago it should be obvious where its coming from.
I located the leak. Its on the rear of the transfer case. Which is bad. But reading up on it it seams as though I can do it. Which is good. The rear seal...that is (is the source of the leak).
So I'm not ready to do this yet but the first step is to remove the skid plates. I look at my skid plates for grins. Kind of smile looking at the scratches, dings, and bumps. A good investment (though the damn transfer case is still dumping fluid). But it seams to me that the bolts holding it on have also hit rocks and kind of rounded themselves off. Which is bad. So before i can fix the transfer case I need to play with the bolts on the skid plates.
So that was a long way of saying check the bolts holding on your skid plates and if they are looking a bit dinged up...replace them before you have a chore like I do.
