Sears Finally got my 33's in last night. Had them mounted this morning. BFG A/T KO's. I'll get some pics this weekend and hopefully put them up monday.

I couple of notes for some of you guys.
1) 33's on stock 15x8" rims look great and don't rub the frame or fender flares. The only spot mine rubbed was the inner fender liner that hangs down in front of the body mount (rear of fender)
I don't rub on the lower bumper.
2) 33's don't put any strain on 3.55 gears. I can't feel any difference in acceleration from my 31's. Maybe a V6 with a little less torque would feel it but it doesn't kill your acceleration. I can put off getting the 4.10's a little while!
3) BFG A/Ts are quiet. With the windows rolled up and radio off I can barely hear them. I need to align my truck and that may quiet them even more. With the radio on you can't hear them.
4) I also haven't noticed any more brake effort to stop the truck.

FYI- In case you want to know my setup. I have a 3" body lift and torsion bars cranked 1" on drivers side and 1.5" on passenger side (Truck leaned bad from factory). My height from ground to bottom of fenders: Front 40.5" Rear 41".

Your lucky your tires dont rub on the frame. I have the same truck, but in white with a v6 and the same setup (body lift, ect.) and my 33s rub on the frame at full lock.

BTW Thrash. I checked after reading your post and mine do rub at full lock but I rarely cut my wheel that hard. The good thing is I don't have to trim anything. I'll see how it does offroad in a couple of weeks to see if it rubs when I tackle some trails.

Just got back from my buddy's show where I got an alignment. Was a little towed in from cranking the torsion bars. Now it's nice a straight. He even set the steering wheel dead on center!

Truck looks great!! What kind of nerf bars do you have and did you adjust them when you did the body lift?

Yes , please let us know about the nerf bars , and how you tucked them up so close to the body.
I had to take a double take when I saw it because it looks like a susp. lift with those bars hiding the frame.

Truck looks great!

The step bars are made by "Wildcat Flash" and are available online from a couple of places. They were on the truck along with the grill guard when I bought it. I didn't like having them on the truck before the lift though. As you can see in the "before" picture it made the truck look very low. I never used them as a step either. I took them off before the truck was lifted and it looked so much higher. Now I'm glad I have them to cover up the frame and I actually use the step. :~)

I'm not positive if mine were made for this truck because the mounts were rough cut and drilled. They are the exact length of my cab as you can see. I'm sure they were taken off of another truck and modified. I pulled the mounts off and fabbed new ones. A benefit of having a machining and welding shop! I lifted them 3.5" so they are tucked close under the body. I would have gone up more but the emergency brake cable was in the way.

Look around and find some bars that mount to the frame. The rear mounts (under the club cab) are drilled through the frame (existing holes from Dodge) and bolted through. The front mounts (under the front floorboard) have to be drilled and tapped because the frame is boxed in this area. 2thextrm also modified his to fit higher. He has some pictures on his photo album. I'll try to take some pictures of mine and post them on my webpage.

Thanks for the compliments!

Corey

Thanks Hawk and big thanks on convincing me to get the All-Terrains. The new KO's are bada$$. The tread has a lot more sharp corners and is way more agressive than the old Radial All-Terrains. They are super quiet and are even more quiet now since I got my alignment. Oh, and I don't regret the body lift, it is perfect!

BTW have you seen Viper? He hasn't been on here since he mounted his X-terrains. Guess he's out "trail testing" them.

The install was easy.
>4 hours on a friday night to remove bumpers and unclip wires, steering rod, hoses, etc
We also unbolted the monts and installed the 3" blocks
>4 hours saturday installing fan shroud, 4x4 shifter, drilling and mounting bumpers, and double checked everything in the instructions.

I welded the shifter but it was a real pain having to bolt it in from underneith to test fit and remove to bend and test fit again. The easier thing to do with the floor shifter is to use threaded rod and coupler nuts. You can test fit from inside the truck and if it doesn't fit you can unscrew the extension and bend it and retry. Much easier than removing the whole assembly.

The longest part will be to drill new holes for the front and rear bumper. Make sure you have good bits and a good drill before hand. That part took me over two hours to get them into place and drill all the holes.

The body lift was put on June 15th. I started looking for tires in mid July after doing the "finishing touches" on some other mods. If I would have known it was going to take so long for the tires to come in I would have ordered them sooner.

The box has the stock hardware in it and is still sitting on the kitchen table, hehe! I gotta find some place for that. My truck has it's own closet dedicated to installed parts and to-be installed parts. Yes it is a sickness.

Later,

Corey
