Subject: 94 Lowering????
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 1994 dodge Dakota and I am planning on lowering it. I want to drop the front approximately 2 in. I was looking at many different kits available and have been weighing my options. I have found that most kits come with drop spindles and the stock springs are still used. I felt the ride might not have the racy feel I wanted with the stock springs, so I looked into dropped springs. I am thinking of using a 2 in dropped spring and retaining the stock spindle. Is this ok to do or will it mess up my suspension/ steering geometry. All the kits tend to contain the spindles so I thought that the spindles might be better but I talked to others and they said dropped springs will give the truck a better feel. I am also concerned that the 2 in drop via springs will cause the bumper stop on the A-arm to bottom out prematurely but I am also worried about the tire hitting the inner fender with dropped spindles. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

I am not shur witch is better, I would have to say spindles insted of springs because you would still have your suspention travel. As far as better feel the springs would help give you that, but I think you would be bumping the stops. I have a 93 with a 3/4 drop with 1" drop eibach springs and 2" drop spindles, it has a nice racey feel to it. Ocasionally I hit the bump stops but not that often. I would think about spindles with some performance shocks that would help with the racey feel. I hope this helps !!!
