Hello all i been a new member for about a week now, i mainly join for research info for my recent build, I bought my 96 sport aout 10 months ago foctory 318 auto ac and so on, and I plan on putting a 400 in it, i got the block off ebay for 25.00 out of a 99 durango the guy ran it low on oil and he lived near by. I got a set of 402 mopar perfornce pistons off ebay as well std bore, the block i got and just be honed.I am building the motor to run decent at the track hopefully high 12s and pull my 70 challenger good to keeping the a/c and all. Hopeing the truck will get 20 mpg as well putting taller tires on it and putting in a set of 3.23 gears. I got a new eagle crank 4 inch stroker there new cost 299.00 from jegs cast steel its a nice peice, got a set of magnum edelbrock heads and am porting them out. I have a flow bench and so on. Heres my combo
1. 360 std bore
2. eagle 4 inch cast steel crank
3. 360 rods resized arp bolts
4. mp pistons cant find specs maybe 30cc dish
5. total seal rings
6. edelbrock magnum heads mild port
7. balanced rotating assembly internal
8. cusom comp cames hydralic roller extreme energy 224/230 @ 0.50 lift with 1.6 .536/.544 ground on a 113 lobe center
9. .039 piston to head clearence for good quench
10. 9.5 compresion (mechanical) and 8.5 physical compression
11. edelbrock rpm air gap intake port matched
12. 750 speed demon carb

I have edlebrock headers for it now but i will cut the collector off where the headers join and weld a bigger collector on at least a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 size . anyways i hope to have the motor done and in the truck in a month i have most of the parts wating on the balance work from the machine shop and am porting my heads now once the motor is done and the other is pulled i have to send my converter of to a guy in st.louis that does all my converter work then is waiting on him to get it back in.I hope this project is of some interest. Wish i could post pics of how the work is going porting and so on.
