 Subject: Questions on Off-Road Lights

Hey..
I finishing up my stereo system now and I'm looking of outside extesories now for my truck.
I plan on getting {all black) CrashGuard Tublar Step-ups and maybe a roll bar but I have a tanoe cover so i have to figure out a way for it to work w/o letting water into the bed.
What Type of Good Off-road lights are good to mount on a Crash Guard and what do u recomend for lights to use??

I have researched the behind the cab lighting while keeping a tonneau/hard cover on to death since I wanted either a roll-bar or light bar to mount roof lights. My first thought was a roll-bar(which I really wanted) would cause me to lose my tonneau and I then couldnt use a hard tonneau either.... for almost two months I looked at all options, took measurements, bought a couple hard covers that were supposedly flush mount so I could try to make my Mopar light bar/bedrail combo work. I ended up selling all those parts at a loss and kept my trusty Downey SST to the bed protection duties.
Several hundred dollars later I found the best looking with the least labor and/or fabricating by the truck owner is to have your tonneau custom cut/stitched around a set of rollbars by a reputable shop(boat yards often have great tailors too). Expect to pay at least $200 for the expertise of someone to cut up your $250 soft tonneau(starting to sweat just thinkin about it again, lol) and make it into a work of art. I will tell you that no matter how tight they make the cuts, you will still get some leakage in a driving rain. I am using roll bar covers at the points where tonneau is seamed around the bars which helps alot and prevents the tonneau from scuffing up the rollbar since the tonneau naturally moves around while driving down the road.
I can email you pics of the finished product if you are interested, I get compliments all the time and the truck looks plain badass, not to mention it is the only late model Dakota I have seen in person that has Roll-bars. That row of lights along the roof grabs attention everywhere, especially at night, lol.
As far as lights, I have always though that Hella makes the best lighting and is very reasonably priced. I have been using offroad lighting for over ten years and have used KC, PIAA, blah, blah, blah and Hella has been my pick for the last 4 years. I'll admit I had some Explorer Pro Comps on my last Dakota and they were also very good and even cheaper than the Hella's. There is so many different styling, sizing, coloring, material and options nowadays you should first decide what you are using them for and if you want a balance of functional and cosmetic, fully functional but maybe not a match for your Dak, Cosmetic with low lighting output but almost looks like a Mopar approved part and was made for your Dak.
Hope this information helps you out and just let me know if you want some pics of what you could expect for an end result to your $1,300-1,400(rollbar, lightbar, tonneau with customization and lighting)

I have had my eye on these lights from LightForce. They have a varible focus lense so it is a pencil beam and a flood all in one light. They are plastic so they are light and strong. This will help with the bouncing effect on body lifted daks.
But the my free one's will work for now! $?
