Anybody have any basic info about the '93 5.2L in a LE 4X4? Specifically, is it multi-port or TBI & would you know if it was possible to buy a LE without A/C & Cruise? I currently have a '87 LE 4X4 with 165k mi & am thinking of upgrading to a newer truck. Thanks dor any info-phil

Thanks. I would really like to blow this old 3.9 when I finally get around to rebuilding her but I may get hosed by emissions. I agree, cruise is nice & a/c too. My a/c has leaked down to where I just unhooked it. Don't really need it for cooling here in the PNW but it sure helps with defrosting in the winter.-phil

I had a 93 sport, and it didn't have cruise. So I bought the kit from the dealer for $160 USD in 95. That was the easiest install, all the wire harnesses are already in there.

EyeTrip: When you put in the cruise did it look like the earlier versions (on the turn signal stalk) or was it steering wheel mounted? Wondering if I could take the one off my '87 and install it on a'93.

Next Question. Does anyone know where I can get the decoding for a '93 Dakota? I have service manuals for '87 & '88 but of course some of the numbers don't jive. Here is the VIN: 1B7GG26Y8PS105094. Thanks-phil

Phil, It was the steering wheel mounted one. The funny thing is that the kit came with a new steering wheel. I couldn't tell you if the 87/88 would work. It's all about mouting and number of control contacts.

I couldn't find my manual for the 93, I'll keep looking and post the codes when I find it.

Yes I 'had' a red prelude until it got smashed to bits.

Yeah I guess that was a typo. I had my '93 since it was just a wee 36 months old... with 32,000 miles.

Now I'm just over 140k and still running strong. Its still my daily driver as long as there's no snow on the ground. Then I have to take out the beast (Ford F250, long bed, regular cab, Glasstite cap, 351 engine, auto, 10mpg, etc)

What year is that F-250 Mark? I had a 77 Custom(4X4, 460) and a 85 F-250 (4X4 dually, 351) before I became a mopar man, and the 85 sounds just like the one you have, except it was a stick, and I STILL only got about 10 MPG. My 77 was the worst for fuel economy. It started as a 302 CI 2X4, and got converted and modified a bit;) It was a good thing it had two tanks, after starting it up, you could alomost SEE the gauge move.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.
