I have that same kit but I did use the blocks. The turning radius sucks dosent it. Oh well a price to pay for having your truck look bad ass.

You can get the same drop using coils, and not lose any of your turning radius. That is just a bad design by DJM IMO. Why make a kit that decreases stock specs??

a 3 inch drop coil to achieve a 2 inch drop on a RT will ride like crap. control arms are a good way of lowering the truck. just get a alignment done at a shop that is setup to do lowered/lifted trucks/cars that will minimize your turning radius problem.

i have 3 inch drop coils on my truck, doesnt ride rough at all... it would ride like a reg dak with a 3 inch drop.
i love it, wouldnt use control arms just b/c of the hassle they cause...

Don't let Hotchkis know that a 3" drop with coils will ride like crap. They've been doing it for years.

The hotchkis rides better than my stock R/T suspension if you ask me. they include shorted bump stops so it addes an inch of travel. Great setup, the best handling suspension I have seen for our daks. Drive a Full Hotchkis truck once and you will change your mind.

Have you ever drove one with the DJM kit , I absolutely love the way mine rides and handles now after I put the DJM kit on , The bump steer this thing has had since new is gone and that alone is priceless !

hey Joezzzz,
I bought 3" DJM drop coils and 4" hangers/shackles for my 99 dakota R/T. I want to know of it will ride rought. will it?

and also, will my truck look good and level? 3" coils will drop me 2" in front and 4" shackles/hangers will drop me a full 4" in the rear. did i do the right thing in buying those?

thanks
Matt

I think any time you use coils to dropit will stiffen the ride , Thats why I went with the arms , You have a r/t ?

i just dropped my tuck today. rts sit level at 2/3. the a arms i put in take away alot of the turning radius. so people go with the 3 inch drop coils for a total of 2 inch drop and 3 inch block if your cheap for the rear or 2 inch hanger/ 1 inch block if you want to spend more.

i thought the r/t came from the factory with lower leaf springs but stock shocks. so if i was to get the hotchkis 2/3 kit wouldnt it lower the truck 2 inches up front and 2 in the back? because the truck is about level now and if the front only lowers by 1 inch the truck will be lower in the back than in the front. Also, ive parked next to stock dakotas before and the front of our trucks were at the same height. at least it looked that way, and i have fine vision.

rts are dropped 1/1 stock leaf spring and coil spring. thats why a 3inch drop coil only lowers rts 2 inches.

to get a full 3 in the rear use a 3inch block or 2 inch hanger 1 inch block. to achieve a 2 in the front use a arm or 3 drop coil!
