Hey, this has probably been asked many times before, so sorry, but i have recently bought some rt rims for my 98 dak sport 3.9l and i am now thinking about what kind of drop i should get. The rt rims only have a 40 series tire on them,it is quite a low pro tire, so i might go bigger. i also have my stock 15s with 235/70/15 on them. Now, ive been looking at a 2/4 drop, but the 40 series tire will probably be to small with that, would a 3/5 drop be good for that?? would my stock 235/70/15 fit with a 3/5 drop for winter driving?? if not, i might just get bigger tires for the 17s and go with a 2/4 drop. If anyone has any opinion or info of this, it would greatly help. thanks

I kept my 215/75/15 stock tires on with no
problems. you can safely use a 28" DIA tire
with a 3/5 drop as long as you dont go too
wide. a 255/50/17 is probably as close as
you're gonna get to the stock R/T tire size. the
255/55/17 size has barely any tire options.

btw, I have a 3/6 drop

Hey, thanks for the info, the 235/70/15 is a 28" diameter wheel so that should be good! does it rub anywhere with your 215/75/15?? Im afraid mine will be too wide. I need the winter tires cause of the snow up here in Canada! What type of drop did you use, your truck looks really nice. With the a-arms you have, did you lose a lot of steering?? thanks

I lost a lot of steering...kind of a pain in the ass
when your in a parking lot, or trying to make a
u-turn. I used 3" arms and 5" shackle/
hangers w/ a 1" block. when (and that is
rarely) the tire rubs, its only the top of the tire
on the inner plastic part of the fender, no big
deal and no harm done.
