I bought the DJM 3/5 lowering kit also...but I went cheep and got the front coils (regreting it already) heres why...I have had them on for a little over a week now and the front coils have yet to settle...I called the place where I bought them and I was told that they will settle it just takes some time...Im wondering if anyone knows if there is any truth to that or not...I know it will take time to settle Im just wondering how long it is going to take because the front isnt even sitting an inch lower than stock and they are 3 inch springs...I went out and bought air shocks for the rear to even it up untill the front settled and to stiffin up the rear springs...i would like to know how long it is going to take to settle, if not I am going to go ahead and buy A-arms also...any information on this matter would be very helpfull

I've heard that problem a few times with the
DJM springs. either they sent you springs for
a V8 and you have a V6, or they are just sh*tty
springs. control arms work great though (if
you dont mind the increased turning radius)
springs should settle in a few minutes not a
few days.

the springs are not going to get any lower. get control arms. i had the same prob. i used the djm 2 inch arms and coils and got almost four inches once it was all said and done. then the hanger shackle kit and blocks that i had machined so i could level out the back side to side. I like djm other than the coils. everything is fine no c notch with almost 6 inch drop. axle hits the bumpstops though sometimes. i can deal with it though. the djm coils are universal for all motors they just lower more for v8. they should tell u not to get the 3/5 kit with coils if u have a v6 truck.

Springs are cheap go with the control arms for the better ride. You will regret not buying the control arms in the future.

thraxer99 if u have the v6 u will get 2" out of them coils, thats what i had on my truck all summer rode around with the rear end lower than the front, i bought the 3" c. arms and now i have a 5/5 drop(not supose to use coils with 3" c. arms)

yeas coils r cheap but with the right ones u can have a good cheap drop with turning radious....slap the c. arms on there and now i cant even make a u-turn and is hard to make turns over 90 degrees.....there are advantages and disadvantages of each

n8 dawg...did the droped front control arms and the lowered coils give you any trouble?...or do they just tell you not to use them both because of the drastic drop that you will achieve?

Well, I have to add my comments about the 3/5 coil / shackle, hanger kit from DJM. I too regret doing the coils. I saw the kit in a magazine and thought great drop for the price...wrong... If you look at the details of the kit, most distributors and the DJM website explain that you will achieve a 1 1/2 to 3 inch drop. I have a v6, so it actually only dropped one inch the day we did the truck.. After driving it around for awhile and waiting a day, it dropped another 1/2 inch...giving me the 1 1/2 they said it could. However the back dropped so much, that it looks like I have a load of gravel in the back. So I have ordered the 2 inch control arm. You can use the 2" arm with the spring. This will actually work out better as the 3 " arm, causes too much steering loss and camber issues. I am sure the 2" will cause a little, but not as much. Once I have this done, this weekend, I will hopefull share good news.

Cheapest way is to heat the front and do 4 inch blocks and remove overload leaf in the rear. Total cost = 25 bucks. Ride = Doodoo. But some people like the bounce .....especially when healthy girls ride in the truck with them / but i wouldn't know about that. I ran them coils and my cut coils from the factory and can't say there is a ride difference......both ride like crap. I would say for the best ride and an accurate drop go with the control arms. I did hangers, shackles, and a notch out back so mine cost me 500 for front and rear but rode better than before. You have to pay to play. Now I'm going with bags cause I'm tired of my 20's rubbing and scraping over everthing.....you just can't ride low in the city streets without tearing up your truck. Peace.
