I'm running the Hotchkis drop with 29" tall tires (same size as 255/55/18). I have had no rubs with this combination, but I am careful over big bumps. When I get wheels the tires will either be 255/50/18 or 255/40/20. (28" tall)

The Hotchkis kit was designed for 28" tires.

If you want to go one more inch I suggest you go with the 255/45 tires. (27" tall)
