do guys you recommend arms instead of springs? im thinking about lowering leaf spring maybe 3" with 2" block because i dont want to do alot of mechanical work and its easy because it is bolt on. what do you think? and do i have to replace my stock springs if i go with arms? lastly i have stock rims and tires is 3"/5" drop possible?

I believe leaf spring is the better wasy to go than the shackle hangers, I believe Hotchkis makes the best. It is less work doing the leaf install as compared to the shackle install, but remember there is ALOT of kinetic energy built up is those leaf springs; so take care.

IMO I recommend arms, but like I said the turning radii increases. You just have to compromise on that, but my ride is worth it. It's better to ask other peeps here about coils, because personally I am not a fan, unless you do 1" coils and 2" arm at the same time.

You say stock rims, there are alot of stock rims out there. You may need to adjust your backspacing? Tell me what you have?

Your tires, again I need to know what size they are. But I think you should get some higher performance tires to top off your ride and they look good.

As far as price, Go Hotchkis if you have the bones, or go DJM if you are on a slighter budget, and go with WC if you are a moron.

As far as the blocks go, for technical reasons, I would stay as small as possible (i.e. 1").

i have p255/65r/16 tires and 16 x 8 aluminum. i dont really put to much load on the truck and i dont haul so do you think leaf is ok for me? what do you mean about turning radii? does it mean that i cant "turn on a dime" compared to stock?do they make 255/50/16 on 16 x 8 rims?

Think of a circle, the axis that splits a circle is called a diameter, and the radius is one half the diameter. Now as you increase the diameter or in this case the radius the circle's circumference (the circles perimeter) gets larger. In our case we are talking about the arc of a cirle, which is just a piece of the circumference.

Now, the replacement control arms will increase your turning radius (circle radius, which means larger arc). And that translates into not being able to turn on a dime, but still adequate to go thru your fav drive thru; you just have to know you new limitations :)

As for your tires, you will def need to ditch them with the drop you are considering; no way around it. Just fork out the dough, what did you think this was a cheap mod...muhahhahaha. just kidding.

As for tire sizes, well they make a whole selection of different tire sizes; everything to accommodate your drop. The tires are no worries my friend, if in doubt go to a reputable tire company; such as Les Shwab. Your 16x8's give you a lot of good choices.

But remember folks, your odometer will deviate as you change your tire size (i.e. when your taveling at a velocity of 60-mph your speedo will say you are going 65-mph; this is a strechted example). you will need to flash your puter. your dealer can easily do this and if he cannot match your exact tire size then he can at least make it close enough and that is all that counts.

Oh the leaf spring will be fine.

hope this helps.
