2" blocks are the easiest, shackle hangers, or
leaf springs would be better, but more
expensive.

Go to www.truckn.com they sell the drop blocks, and use the 2 inch drop block, these are extruded aluminum and strong, and have the 4 degree taper built into them so the pinion angle will be correct. you just need to get some longer U-bolts from the auto parts store.

the smaller the block, the better, my brother
just broke his blocks in half at the track. (4"
blocks)..too much power and movement in the
rear end.

mikee, use the shackle hangers (5") and a 1"
block, cheaper, and just as effective,
especially if you want to keep that stock ride in
the rear.

3" arms are great, but hard to align properly,
you may end up with the "negative camber
look" check out my site, I used the 3" arms
and 5" shackle/hangers, with a 1" block.

you just have to take it to a shop with a
"newer" alignment rack, mine got stuck on all
the older ones (Sears), the arms leave only a
couple of inches ground clearance. they cant
do much for the caster/camber, but the toe/
heel can easily be corrected. you will have a
slight (very slight) negative camber look, the
same as the pics of my truck, but this can only
be corrected by pulling off the upper control
arms and redrilling the holes to make them
1/4" to 3/8" longer to allow for adjustment.

I have put another 10,000+ miles on these
tires, and have only rotated them once (should
be rotated every 3,000) and the tire wear is
perfect, no irregularities at all.

I dont know what state you live in, but I used
"Just Tires" in California, and they were very
helpfull, and did a great job (approx $50.00)
good luck !

i just finshed my rear end today with a 3/5 drop coil springs, shackles and hangers......my rear end sits 1 inch lower than the front......and there is squeaking from where it hits the bump stops(i think).....i havent put the new bump stops on and the shocks will be here in approx. 2 days, will it even out with new shocks? i am hoping anyways......or else i will try and get something else to lower the front more.

Also the back seems to get lower and lower....it sat level this morning when i finshed it up and now it has dropped another inch? so it has actually dropped 6 in. in the back wtf is wrong? with it?

I used the stock bump stop when it sat at 5" in
the rear, I took it out to cut it down an inch or
so, cause the truck never bottomed out at 5"
with the stock bump stops in....long story, but I
lost the bump stops, and have been too lazy to
go to the dealer and order some new ones.
(dont do the no bump stop deal at 6", I have
bottomed out hard only twice, but it made my
brain rattle in my skull, I hate to see what it
has done to my rear end when I pull it apart...)

C-notch is the best way to go with a 6" drop, I
will probably get one eventually, but I am
thinking of waiting till my warranty runs out, its
half way there ! ! !

i cut down my factory bump stops about 2in. to where they are flat. the back end use to sit right on the bump stop so it hit it everytime it hit a small bump. now it sits about 3in. away from it and doesnt hit it very much. but i am hoping with the new shocks it will be a lil bit better of a ride. and maybe lower the front some more =)

factory bump stops seem to be a lot more
forgiving than the aftermarked urethane ones.
I gotta get some new ones !
