Hi. I posted this a few days ago and didnt get the answer I was looking for so here it goes again. I just picked up a set of 17X8 Centerlines with 5.5" of backspacing. I plan on dropping my 2000 Reg Cab V6 Dak 2/4. I was wondering what would the be the best tire size to run. I got three choices in mind, 245/55/17, 255/50/17, or 255/55/17. I know the R/Ts come with 255/55/17s but they are running a 9 inch wheel. Do any of you guys with lowered R/Ts running 17X9s on 255/55s hvae any rubbing problems? Any guys out there dropped with 17s What size tire you running? Any problem with rubbing against the fender? Anybody have any reccomendations or pointers? Any pics? Thank You

the R/T's come 1" lower than the other dakotas, so going another inch over that, i dont think you will have a problem with the 55 series

I have the Hotchkis 2/3 drop on my truck and I use 275/40 zr17's on mine with absolutely no problems. The 275's are almost 10 inches wide. so, you should be fine. BTW- the pic of my truck is outdated. I have since done the drop and put on a rollpan...

I have a 4/6 drop as well. Westernchasis suspension. I had the 255/55/17 goodyear series tires and would only rub past 95 mph. So I swithced the tires to 255/45/17 Falkens and Its fine. No problems at all, rubbing that is.. Now that its a lower profile tire, my truck is even lower... And now I bottem out sometimes, and man it's a horrible sound to hear the bottem of your truck scrape. But anyway, I would go with the lower profile tire. :) Hope that helps..
