Subject: 17X8 Tire Question

Message:
Hi. I just picked up a set of 17X8 Centerlines with 5.5" of backspacing. I plan on dropping my 2000 Dak 2/4. I was wondering what would the be the best tire size to run. I got three choices in mind, 245/5517, 255/50/17, or 255/55/17. I know the R/Ts come with 255/55/17s but they are running a 9 inch wheel. I dont want the tires to be too wide and bulge out. Rubbing is also gonna be an issue. Anybody have any reccomendations or pointers? Any pics? Thank You

I dont think your gonna have a problem at all with any of the mentioned tire sizes The 255/55/17 is the equal to a 215/75/15 that came on my 92 and the speedo is a tad off maybe 1 to 3 mph . Personally i'd go with 255/55/17 just for the little more meat that the tire has as compared to some of the RUBBER BANDS on some of the Sport Trucks out there. I like to use my Truck as well as look at it. Just my 2c worth . Go with your taste.
