The ball joint boot covers are ripped apart and need to be replaced. I called sporttruckdirect where i bought the kit from and they didnt give me an answer, but told me it was under warrenty. Doesnt sound right does it, and im on a wild chase. If anyone has any ideas let me know (it was a 4/6 western chassis drop kit)

I had the Western Chassis control arms and they don't come with ball joints unless they have changed that. I would just go to your local parts store that sells ball joints made by MOOG and get a new set~

Your talking about the rubber casing around the ball joint ... right?? did you ripe it during cracking off the ball joints from the spindle... like with a pickle fork?

I have the same arms and ball joint setup on my truck. I've had the drop for 3 or 4 months and when getting an alignment the other day, was told that the new ball joints had to much play. If you still have the instructions, there might be a number in there to call or visit thier website. Also, anyone know how much they charge for the upper ball joints? I've be having a problem with them and the tire shop confirmed that for me. They said one of them was in serious need of attention.

Guys,
Yesterday I just dropped the front of my dak 3" with western chassis. 2" drop arms ans 1" drop springs. I used moog upper and lower ball joints that I bought new on ebay. With belltech nitro drop shocks and energy suspension poly bushings (uppers and lowers) The install was pretty str8 forward but took a whole day. The new ball joints come with the rubber boots. The lowers just bolted into the WC control arms and the uppers I had to cut the heads of the rivits off and use an air chisel to pry the factory balljoint out of the upper control arm. A few things I learned and you should learn from my mistakes is to have help (actually I did), do NOT tighten the grease fittings all the way down on the ball joints - they stripped out on mine and I have to go back in a few days and put larger ones in, have some pipes handy - they slip onto breaker bars for extra leverage, use poly bushings everywhere - I cant begin to tell you how much better my ride quality is ! Another thing, if you plan on changing out the upper control arm bushings for poly ones, you will need to drill out the old rubber ones, dont waste time trying to pull them out, they will just rip anyway, and I found drilling is the oly way to get the old crap out. (UMMM burnt rubber LOL)

Marty

I found out that you have to get the ball joints replaced by Sport Truck Direct. Moog warranties them to the supplier, and in turn they are suppose to warranty them to you. They only sell thier stuff to a dealer, not direct. Hope this helps.
