 Subject: Are R/T coils one inch lower?

A local salvage yard has a 2wd R/T. If I snatch the coils will it drop the front of my sport model by one inch. In other words is the reason the R/T sits 1" lower due to the coil springs?
.
BTW my truck is a 2002 2wd v8 Quadcab.

While were at it, what make the R/T rear sit 1 inch lower?.... different leafs?

Yes. The R/T's 1" drop is achieved using front and rear springs that are 1" lower than the stock Sport/SLT 4x2 height. The springs have a lower load rating, so just know that you can't carry the same load with the same results as regular springs.
Also, snag the rear sway bar, bushings and caps. It is thicker, 22mm vs 15mm (presuming you have one already). You'll notice a much firmer ride. The front sway bar is the same on each truck.
If your QC doesn't already have a rear sway bar grab everything sway bar related. You can easily fabricate a mount for the axle using 3" muffler u-bolts.
