 Subject: 8.5" Wide Rim Backspacing?

Ok here we go. My truck has a 2/4 drop. I really like the look of the new American Racing chrome ST rims. I want 18s but they only come in 8.5"s wide with 5 1/2" of backspacing and a 19MM offset. Will they stick out past the fenderlip? Will I need to run R/T flares with these wheels. If I do go with this combo Ill get 255/55/18s. Any problems rubbing with these tires? Anyone got some 18s they want to sell? Thank you for any help in advance.

I have American Racing chrome Nooz rims in 18x8 with 5.5" backspacing and 25mm offset. I have no problems with rubbing anywhere and the tires don't stick out past the fenders (w/o the flares. I don't see how 1/4" more of rim width would cause rubbing. Oh yeah, my tires are 255/55/18 and I have the Hotchkis 2/3 drop.
