On a 4x4, it's difficult to lower the rear because the leaf springs are on top of the axle.
You can't use lowering blocks on a 4x4 rear.
Longer shackles or lowering springs are the answer for the rear.
On the front, it's as easy as adjusting the torsion bars.

JimmyD is right on this one.
You could remove one leaf from each side of the rear, but that would severely limit your load carrying capacity, and the rear would bottom out much more easily.
I was looking into dropping my 4x4's rear about an inch or so just to level it out a bit, but it's a heck of a lot of work swapping in longer shackles.

The best thing to do, is search for "Flip Kit" on ebay or google... these "flip kits" will relocate the leaf springs below the axel and then I believe you can use lowering blocks.

well, the flip kit should be simple and then just search for the kit online... AIM Industries has a few kits for your truck I believe... http://airbagit.com

Let me know if you find what you are looking for!

Hi Guys,

That's very difficult to lower a 4x4 ????!!!!!

So, if I resume:

To lower approx. 3'' I have to:

FRONT: adjusting torsion bars (with torsion adjusters).
REAR: Flip kit +++ lowering blocks? (where I can find it?).

Is that right?

But if I whant to lower my 4x4 Dak' more than 3'' (approx. 5-6'')??? I check with airbagit but they say they don't produce air solution for a 4x4.

How I can make? HELP HELP HELP.

Thank you for your Help, I'm in Switzerland, and Dakota's are exotic cars here, it's so difficult to find parts.
So, I order all my parts in US, but I need your HELP.

Thanks
Jonathan
