Subject: Shorter driveshaft

i have my dakota lowered 5 inches in the rear, and it is making a horrible scraping sound when i go up hills, accelerate hard, hit bumps, etc. do i need a shorter driveshaft? do i have to have one made or can i get my stock one shortened?

It possible that the driveshaft is bottoming out in the transmission. Put the truck up on jackstands and see if you can replicate the problem.

mines a 98 and when it was droped 4inches in the rear my drive shaft broke so i would recomend shortening it. or yoou could wait till it breaks but it will tear alot of things up under your truck.
