HI guys, what drop kit has people found to be the best value for money with the best results? i know Hotchkis makes a damn fine kit but i cannot afford the kit let alone the shipping to over here in the U.K!!So its going to be either DJM drop arms with Hangers or Belltech springs and hangers.I'm looking for a 2"/3" on a 2000 R/T reg cab on 20" with 275/40/20 tires. How much rubbing can i expect!! if any..cheers b.t.w thanks Sam (SOCALDAKOTA) for the kit it arrived this morning

Do it on the cheap-- run Hotchkis front coils, and 2" block in the rear.

Get the control arms man. I see too many with springs just drifting up and down up and down up and down ect. all day.

I doubt you will experience any rubbing at all, maybe only in extream situations.

I have a 3/5 drop on my Dak Sport QC w/ 275/45/20's and well, I obviously experience plenty of rubbing. I wouldnt with a 2/3 drop though.

YOU WILL BE FINE

I have a 2000 Dakota on TIS 04 20s, and I was looking for a place that does a good job in the Houston area that could install a 2/4 drop. If anyone knows of a place, please reply. Thanks.

if u drop it 2/3 on an rt then u have nothing to worry about unless ur running stock shocks and some 'non' tucking rims. but for everyday driving with no extreme conditions then u should be alright.

The front will rub. On my 275/45/20's I only have 1 1/2" of clearence from fender to tire. You WILL rub.

Not sure off hand what they will charge for installation, but I think Hotchkis is realitivley easy.

I have an 02 cc dropped 3/4 with 275/45/20's and very very seldom rub. I have to drive like an idiot to get them to rub. So with the 40 series tires you should be just fine. I'm planning on going to a 35 series tire so I can get the front to tuck when I bag it.

Special - You must be using some very stiff shocks if you arent rubbing. Also, I may not be on the same page as you but, are you thinking that a smaller tire will allow them to tuck?

Shocks are still stock and ride really stiff. I haven't had time to change them. Now with the lower profile tire like a 35 series I will be able to tuck in the front cause the wheels and tires will camber inwards at the top. I will still have to roll the fender lips and cut the real axle but it will tuck.

Special - I'm sorry to inform you of this, but butting a smaller tire does not change anything but, well, the size of your tire. You have to get a custom made off-set for tucking.

That would be great Bash, I would owe you one. Just keep in mind, I am very picky about rims. I almost refuse to settle for anything but Lexani Firestars which will run me over $5,000 for some custom 20's.
