dropped the Dak 4" and was riding rough. Noticed the axle up against the bump stops. Removed them now axle hits hard on frame on big bumps. Will I weaken the frame if I notch it?

i had same prob with mine, but i just cut the bump stops down to about half size cuz i didnt want it to hit frame. i rides a little better now but still somewhat rough. c-notch may be a good idea, as long as weld is good and strong and frame is well structured, it should hold

You'll want a professionals opinion there bud, no sense risking severe damage on something overlooked. While notching would probably help, you have to cut a LOT to get any extra travel. Are your tires going to hit the fenderwells? What about while turning? I'd start with stiffer or progressive shocks before cutting into metal.
