Subject: How Much Drop, with...

Sup guys... I'm wondering how much of a drop I can do, based on others experiences...

Here's the truck. A 2000 SLT with 20" Ferretti Tuscanys. The back is sitting on 2" blocks to level it out now, but I want to drop...

Was hoping for a 3/5, but I'm affraid it might rub. Anyone else have success with a 3/5 and 20's? It's riding on 245-40-20's now.

Currently I have a 3/4 drop with 18s (235/50/18) and I don't have any problems with rubbing.

And although you have bigger rims, the overall diameter difference is only 0.4 inches.

I'm switching to a 3/5 here soon and I'm sure that the extra inch in the rear will not change any rubbing/bumping qualties.

You will have to cut down your bumpstop in the rear though. I know that for a fact.

I like the stance of your truck now..

That's good news to hear. I didn't think there would be a problem, but I wanted to get it from the horses mouth, before dropping money on the kit. I had the 16" wheels with 255-55-16's, and the overall diameter of the 20's is smaller than those.

I know these 20's wont tuck with the off-set they have, so that's what had me a little concerned.

Thanks for the reply.

Next question. After looking a bit, I believe the DJM kit would be best for me. Is there a good "Cheaper than the rest" place to order these from?

Thanks

The main reason i'm switching is removing the 4" blocks and putting in a 5" shackle/hanger kit. We can all agree that 4" blocks are no fun.

As for the kits, check out:

stylinconcepts.com
performancesuspension.com
summitracing.com

and others. Just look and see what's best.
