i have a 3/5 dropped 97 dakota with 20x8.5 wheels. right now i have 255/35/20 whats the widest and biggest profile i could run? i found some 275/45/20 goodyears on tirerack for 131 a piece! could that profile work? how much taller is it gonna be going from 35 to 45? thanks

If my calculations serve me correct, then the tire should be 34.5mm wider on all sides. That's 3.45cm and about 1.35in.

i have the 275/45/20 goodyear tires on a 2/3 drop and it does rub slightly so i dont think it will work with a 3/5

so i should just get the 275/40/20 then? today i had my friend step on my rear bumper and it might have been on the bumpstops and the space between the fender flare and tire was not even 2 fingers.

I wouldn't suggest doing it. I'm almost sure it will rub, and while turning or hitting bumps, you're going to encounter even more problems.
