Subject: Many drop questions....

Ok, here's the deal. I'm trying to achieve the elusive 5/7 drop on my 99 Dakota Sport, and I have a few options, and am wondering which would be the best way to go.

Right now i have 3" drop coils up front, and my 2" lower control arms are on their way. So i'll have the 5" up front that i'm looking for. I will need some new shocks though. The drop shocks i have are complete and utter crap, so anyone know of any good 5" drop shocks for the front?

In the rear i have 4" blocks. Now we all know how painful a ride that is. So instead of trying to get 3 more inches, i'm gonna probably just redo the whole setup. First and foremost i'll need to notch the frame. I want to have as much clearance as possible. And good suggestions are well appreciated. Second, i need to know which combination to go with. Leaf springs, spring hangers, shackle hangers, blocks, and in what combination. Some 3" leaf springs, 2" spring hangers, and 2" blocks seem like the way to go. Or should i do leafs/shackles/hangers? Also, i need some good shocks too. My current ones don't do my truck justice.

Any insight is greatly appreciated. My head is in a daze from trying to look up all this stuff online. So i figure that the experts are the ones that have tried this stuff out. So send me those ideas and insights.

Thanks in advance
-Matt

If your going to have to notch and redo the whole setup, why not just bag it?!?!? For the price of notching, control arms, shackles, hangers and new blocks you can probably afford to bag it, thats what I would do if I were you! ;)

Hey matt, sounds like your truck is going to be low!! im trying to go for a 4/5 or a 4/6 drop. Which springs and control arms did you use up front to achieve a full 5 inches??? i have some 2 inch coils right now, but im trying to get those control arms off of that other guy thats selling them.

I have some 3" drop coils on right now (not sure what brand). And i'm getting 2" DJM control arms in the mail soon. So right there is the 5" up front (if everything is how it should be). If you go with 3" coils, you'll be able to get 5" too. But from what you said, it doesn't seem like you want 5 inches.

As for the rear, waiting to bag it is probably a good idea. Because I'm going to go there in the future, so i guess it wouldn't hurt to just wait on that. I'm just too damned impatient. ;)

As for the bag set up in the rear....anyone have any good ideas. I've been looking at 4-links online and theres a lot. I'm just not sure what would be the best way to go. Anyone have a good 4-link set up?
