I am about to lower my 99 dodge dakota regular cab v6 2inches in the front. and i am probably going to purchase springtech drop coils from ebay. Does anyone know if I could just get these coils to lower my truck in the front 2inches and not need anything else. Also if anyone knows anything about springtech drop coils please let me know.

All you need to lower the front of your truck is the coils.

But you will also want to purchase some dropped shocks, to give yourslef a better ride, because the stock shocks are going to be hell if you leave them on.

I installed 3in drops on mine and used the stock shock with no difference in the ride. There just isn't as much travel in the shock. You shouldn't notice any difference in the ride

Hey postman, how long have you had your stock shocks on?

I put on some dropped shocks, but they're a piece of trash. And if you say that the stock shocks are better, than i might just switch back to them untill i get some better dropped shocks.

I've had mine on for about a year now and the truck handles just as well if not a little better in the curves

So when I lower my front end with just the springs, will i have to get my truck re aligned again or will everything be ok if i am just putting new lowering springs in place of the stock ones? Thanks.

Yea, you should get it re-alignede. I'll have to do that with mine soon.

And, looks like i'm switching back to my stock shocks, and seeing how they ride.

Will a 2" coil drop scre up my camber. I want coils that are 2" lower than stock and stiffer. I think my stock coils are too bouncy.

2 in. drop coils pay mess up your camber a bit, but that is taken care of with alignment at the local tire shop. Alignment cost about 50 bucks. I got my car aligned and they told me the camber was off a bit. Hope this helps.

Get them to give you the specs before and after the aligne. The camber will be out a bit but this does not affect tire wear that much (esp. on radial tire equiped vehicles), it is the toe setting that will wear them down if it is out of spec.
