Subject: Leaf Spring Removal???
IP: Logged

Message:
OK Ive been haggling with this for 2 days now and have run out of reasons why the front leaf spring bolts wont come out. Im replacing them with the hotchkiss ones. I sprayed them with penetrant and let them soak for about a day and Im afraid that the bushing is cocked because whenever i bang on it with the 10 ib. sledge it just sounds like your banging on the frame. Any help with this would greatly be appreciated. Im going to just bolt it up and take it too a shop if I cant get it done by tomorrow.

Dont put heat to springs unless your trashing them, in you got the uper and lower control arms seperated buy disconecting the spindel from the arm it should come right out, if its not something is still connected somewere.

i had to heat mine up then beat them. then use the bolt to pull the bolt back so you can get a farther throw next time you hit it. that worked for me
