Subject: Belltech 2/4 Drop on R/T
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has installed the Belltech 2/4 drop on their R/T. I'm mainly wondering if you got an additional 2" drop in the front, or if it was just an additional 1", due to the lower stock springs. I'm trying to decide if I want to put the full shackle/hanger kit on the back, or just go with the 2" drop hanger. I want the truck to end up sitting level, or with a very slight rake. Any help or pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks

my trucks sits just the way you want it with a 2/3. done by a 3 inch drop spring in the front. and a 2 inch hanger and 1 inch block. rear is made by djm. front is made by springtech. very happy with the way it sits.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any pictures? The reason I asked about the Belltech, though, was because I recently picked one up for a great price. I just don't want to install the whole kit, and find the back end sits lower than the front, because that would look stupid. I'm considering trimming the coil spring to get a total of 3" drop (2 more than the factory) in front, which I think would be much more level if I decide to go with the full 4" out back.

Thanks for your help. Anyone with the Belltech kit out there? Pics would be great as well.

my 2/3 sits raked...
the belltech kit uses control arms, which are a real PITA! turning radius lost, and hard install is what ive heard. i used coils just for simplicity reasons...

i have pictures of mine - check out page (the pics resize in the big center frame) http://dakotart1313.0catch.com/index.html

it came out to be a 2.25/almost 3 drop. the only reason i know the rear is 3 and not two, is because i did the back first, and it sagged the extra inch.

My 1999 Dakota R/T sits with a 4"/5" drop. I used 2" DJM a-arms and 2" Spring Tech coils and 5" hangers with Toxic shocks. I am very happy with the way it looks. It rides better than the factory ride.

rt13, thanks for the info, that is the look I'm going for with mine. The Belltech kit I purchased was the one with the 2" drop coils and 4" rear hanger/shackle kit. I had read a lot of negative posts about the control arms as well, and I didn't want anything too extreme anyway. One question: are your coil springs 2" or 3" drop? I know the factory claims to have a 1" drop already, so in theory a 2" spring would only lower the truck an additional 1" in the front.
