Subject: it worth buying 1" coils for R/T?

i have 2" a-arms and i was going to either buy 1" coils or 2" coils. i know that R/t's come with 1" coils. so should i not even buy the 1" coils? thanks guys

Just 'cause it's advertised as a 1 or 2" drop,
doesn't mean it'll drop that much. It depends
a lot on the quality of the spring, cab style of
truck, engine weight, etc.

Have you installed the arms yet?

In not, I'd do that first and see where the front
ends up. If you wanted more drop you could
cut down the RT front coils. I have RT front
coils on my Quad and cut 1/3 of a full coil to
get exactly a 2" front drop (about 7 inches cut
off measured along the outside edge of the
spring.

My guess would be cutting about 3.5"
(measured along the outside of the coil)
would get an extra 1".
