I need help with a vibration in the front end. I have a 2000 Dakota CC 4X4. I notice the vibration starting at around 50 MPH gets worse as speed is increased. I can feel it in the steering column and gear shifter. I've checked the ujoints on the drive shaft (no play) Transmission mount is good. I worked my way to the front, checked the ujoints on the front drive shaft (no play) then when I checked the inner CV joint on the front axle I've got noticeable play. The driver side is worse than the passenger side. Wondering how much play I should expect and could this be the problem causing the vibration?

Are you sure all 4 tires are properly balanced? Did you lose a wheel weight?

Didn't check that. I'll give it a look. Any idea about the play in the inner CV joint (up and down)?
Thanks-
