 Subject: squeaking bed

I have a VERY annoying squeak coming from the bed of my truck.. I can really hear it when the sliding rear window is open.. wonder if its just the bed mounts squeaking? it is a 2000 extended cab.. also there is an annoying rattle comign from the back seat.. first i thoought it may be the jack under the seat , but i moved it around and had no luck.. looked under the truck and did nto find any heat shields loose ? i am puzzled. anyone have any ideas ? thanks !

Torque down your cab bolts and see if you still squeak. Remember sounds underneath your truck tend to telescope all over the place so it's hard to determine the origin, especially while moving.

Mine squeaks too, I haven't been able to figure out exactly where it is coming from but it sounds like it is in between the cab and the bed!
'98 Sport 3.9L 5-speed 3.55. Custom CAI, ASP Pullies, Traction Bars.

All this time I thought it was the tailgate. SO you guys hear it too? Silly thing,the 'gate had a ding in it when i bought it, just figured it was the culprit. I know Ed Zachery what your talkin about, thou.. (heehee. ed zachery is my hero. ever get the time i'll tell ya a funny joke.. :) ) I hate that its some sort of gremlin in dakotas. I'll try to get under it this weekend, and maybe as a collective effort we can whittle this problem down.

My 99 did that to. Sprayed some white litium grease on those little rubber bumpers that the tail gate closes against and it went away....give that a try

I have won over the squeaking bed.. i found that it was the leaf spring shackle.. sprayed soem wd-40 adn it is gone now ! .. made my day !
