 Subject: Accident Today

Today I hit was in a head on collision at 55MPH. I walked away with minor soft tissue injurys. I was at work two hours after the acident happened. If not tor the punctured radiator the truck as ugly as it is right know would have been driveable. The parts that I could see off hand that are damaged are as follows: Core support, front pannel, head lamps ass., grill, hood, radiator,fascia, impact bar, both inf modules. They engine was still running after the acident and after I pulled of the road I keyed off. I did not see any oil or trany fluid just coolant. The other vechile had more sever damage but the damage was over a smaller area. The frame and front suspension looked superfisial(sp) just fine!! I will try to get some photo's of it. I do not have a digital camera so I will need to scan it in once I take it. I hit square on and maintained control through out the entire accident even when the are bag deployed. My hands never left the wheel. While their is alot of damage but not enough to total it out I am very pleased with how well it protected me!

Wow that sounds BAD. Luckily were you hurt too badly. Sorry to hear about that.

Good to see you walked away. Dakotas do a damn good job at front end collisions.

Yeah I guessed $7000-$8000 as well. We will see!! I just hope that their is not too much frame dammage or any power train damage!! I will let yo guys know. I think I have some whiplash and all the muscles in my back are sore. My arms are sore and my ankle is sore.

Good god.....that's pretty much exactly how i had my wreck.....same speed, and such....same damage too. My total was 6,200. Replaced radiator, coolant, and fenders, bumpers, but engine was good and suspension was good. Check my site for pics of my wrecked truck before i got it fixed.

Sandman,
If your neck and back are hurting, I hope you plan to see a doctor. That's nothing to mess around with. Sometimes you can have problems that won't show themselves for years,but could be taken care of if addressed immediately. My brother was in a similar accident about 10 years ago and didn't go to the doctor and now he has some back problems. Hope you are O.K.

Well my thought's are clearer today then yesterday. I am sore as heck and really tired. That was and incredably violent event. I guess the fact that I am almost 30 has somethng to do with why I am so sore. When I was longer I took much more abuse then that and never felt like this. Yes I am seeing a Doctor and had a battery of X-Rays tonight. I am going to call the insurance tomorrow and tell them about my pain and treatment. You know I wanted to get my truck repainted due to poor factory paint job but I did not want to get it this way.

definately see a doctor. I saw one for almost
3 months, and I still hurt. then wham! another
woman hits me not paying attention. mine
was $2000 in damage, and thats only one
headlight assembly, bumper and fender.
