My 94 Dakota Sport would not start or even attempt to turn over. The battery started my other car just fine. I had it towed to the shop only to have it start for them (for 2 days). They tested the charging system and the battery, alternator, starter, etc. tested fine. The morning after I brought it home, it is doing the same thing. Any ideas?

If they couldn't duplicate the condition then they cannot condem a part. However,it sounds like the starter itself. As long as all connectors were checked etc. then I would bet on the starter.
If you have someone to help you in the morning try to start the truck. If nothing happens just rap it a few times while trying to start it. Moisture and temp have a funny way of playing games with elect. components. Funny thing i just changed one at the shop today. Same problem.. Good luck

Could be the neutral safety switch also try starting it in neutral instead of park, If it's a manual shift ,may be the switch on the clutch may not be working right. You have to push the clutch pedal down all the way. Check the starter relay on the left shock housing also.(driver side)

I recently had my oil changed and shortly after i noticed my truck to stall occasionally while driving. yesterday my truck would not start. it turned over just fine and would die. However i could keep in running if i constantly feathered my gas pedal. Its a 94 dodge dakota 4 cylinder. Any suggestions what the problem is?

gregerT: Sounds very much like your Idle Air control valve.

Its on the top back of your throttle body under the air box.

I had this problem years back before I changed it. It would resurface usually when it was humid the most. I havent had the problem since I replaced it about 7 years ago. I think it was a $45 part and only took two screws and a plug to replace.

Mark, thank you! Do you think its likely that this valve was knocked loose during the oil change?

probably not because it is on the top of your engine. Before replacing mine, I put a piece of paper in the throttle to keep it open a tiny bit when it would have otherwise been closed. That worked fine until I replaced the part. If your problem is the same part, this might help.
