Message: I have a 2000 4x4 Dak with 70K miles on it. The water pump just went out. Is this common? Has anyone else had their water pump go out so soon?
My work has a 2000 3.9 with 160,000 miles on it. Water pump is the original.
We also had a 98 it had 218,000 on it.
And they just got rid of a 99 with 253,000 on it.
All still had the original water pump.
My old truck had the pump go out at 85,000 miles, and the one I put on lasted two days.
I guess it is the luck of the draw!
