Yes it is ok to use Atf+4.All vechiles that called for ATF+3 are now being serviced with ATF+4. I typed the main points of that TSB into this site a few mounths back. ATF+4 is supior to ATF+3 and it is backwords compatiable with ATF+3. It is also to be used in the power steering system in place of priovious approved power steering fluid the first time the system needs to be serviced. Look through the TSB's at all data and you will see one that mentioned transmisson fluid usage that is the one that covers the switch from ATF+3 to ATF+4.THe only expection really were vechiles that used ATF+4R and a few 80's era vechiles that used ATF+2 I think. I do not remeber the describtionon the power steering fluid TSB. I belive that I used the TSB number in the post. I listed one or both on the TSB board and one on the general board I belive. ATF+4 is compatable and will not harm the old fluids at all. The only reason to flush and refill in either case is to maximize the performance of the new fluid by not deluiting it with old oxidized lower grade product.

Marc,
Since 1999, due to the special requirements of their automatic transmissions, Chrysler has recommended a unique ATF+4 formulation. In addition, Chrysler has been recommending ATF+4 for all (repeat ALL) previous makes and models of Chrysler Corporation vehicles.

The new AMSOIL Synthetic ATF exceeds the performance specifications for Chrysler ATF+, +2, +3, and +4 as well as MS-7176 A, B, C, D, & E; MS-9602 A, B, & C. as well as Ford Mercon or General Motors Dexron III applications.

AMSOIL Synthetic ATF provides outstanding high and low temperature performance and oxidation stability. AMSOIL Synthetic ATF also improves fuel efficiency, reduces transmission temperatures and increases equipment life. The service life of the universal AMSOIL Synthetic ATF is up to five times the service life of conventional ATFs.

Thought I would let ya'll know that I use what Amsoil refers to as Amsoil Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid in all my vehicles and have never had a problem whatsoever. I don't know how they do it but I like it.

I have used the Amsoil in my power steering, T/Case and Engine with good results. I am currently buying loacaly. I am probably going to get a prefered membership this Christmas or shortly their after from Steven. I use the Amsoil Trany fluid cut 50/50 with B-12 Chemtool as a gun lube especialy for storage and as a carbon remover. This combo also work well as a general lube around the garrage/shop. I use the B-12 chemtool to thin it and act as a penatrent. B-12 can be bought at Wal-Mart and is a strong solvent made out of light airomatic hydrocarbons. It will evaperate leaveing behind nothing but the tranyfluid in a very thin layer. Use at you own risk and I am sure Amsoil does not endorse mixing it's product with anything else. I like this combo better then liquid wrench and I already had all of the ingredients lay around the shop.

01dak_mo,
I posted here in a couple of places that my computer got 8 viruses in about two weeks that somehow bypassed my virus protection and erased 80% of my hard drive. I do recognize your email address as one that was put into the system.

I asked that EVERYONE that did not receive an Amsoil Catalog PLEASE resend the information and I would get another one out ASAP. I apologize for any inconvenience. In the interim please visit my online store for information.
