Was wondering if anyone else has had trouble w/ their CEL, and showing fault codes regarding a leak in the Evaporative Emission Control System??
Iv'e had my 2001 QC in the shop twice in the past week for codes 455 and 442 respectively, and each time they just reset the computer and tell me the gas cap must have been loose. What a bunch of bull - they just can't figure out whats really wrong with it.
Anybody had similar problems??
This is the 5th time in a year and a half it's been in the shop for different things (ball joints being one!). If or I should say when the CEL comes on again, and they don't fix it I'll be trading it in on a FORD.

Go to Advance Auto and get a new gas cap for $10.
Had the same problem, replaced the cap and it quit.
Tore the old cap apart and it was corroded inside.

A new cap fixed mine. After they smoked the system twice, and replaced evap pump. Fixed under warrenty.
