Hey guys,
When I started up my truck tonight, the head lights went dim and the heater blower slowed down. When I rev up the engine, they function normaly. When the engine goes down to an idle (500 rpm) the lights dim again and same for the fan. I think the battery is only 2 years old but how can I tell if it's an alternator or battery problem? I don't have my load tester with me at school.

On another note, now that I have the 318 in my truck and have had the first real day of winter, I need to do something to increase my traction. I have 235/70/15 BFG Radial T/A's on and they stick like glue on wet pavement, but they suck on snow. Well, they allow me to turn and stop very well, but I can't go. Would it be better to put in a locker or an LSD? I have an open 8.25" (I believe) diff with 3.55:1 gears right now, and spinning one tire isn't enough to get my truck moving if I have to stop on a hill.

any advice is really appreciated
Geoff
