Maybe some or most of you have seen this page before, but I found it and noticed that it had some info on it that I hadn't heard before...such as, the 5 speed auto behind the Hemi is a Mercedes tranny, and DC is also allegedly working on a 6.1 (383ci) Hemi. It also had a couple of cutaways of the new engine...

http://allpar.com/mopar/new-mopar-hemi.html

Remember the old cadilac 8-6-4 V8 ;(

Hope if I get one it is before they do that to the Hemi

The industry has come a LONG way since the old Cadillac 4-6-8. The GM cylinder deactivation program (DOD; displacement-on-demand) is said to be completely seamless... you don't even know it's happening. Until, of course, you pull up to the gas pump and it gets 15% better gas mileage. What's the downside? The engines are so complex now, I can't see the big problem with a little more. Most of the hardware/software they need to accomplish this is already present in the new hemi anyway.

I think the 6.1 will be used only on the 3500, 4500, 5500 series of heavy duty trucks. The trucks are rumored to be in development.

Z-Tube, R/T Rims, SSB Rear Disc Conversion, Alpine Head-Unit, Infinity Kappa Speakers, SilverStar Headlights, HO Cams & Intake installed.

Got H.O. ?

6.1L doesn't seem like a huge increase when it's based on the same engine. I mean, the current 5.7 could probably be stroked to that size.
