Alright. I have a 1990 2wd V6 club cab Dak. I have been searching all over for a lift to run 33-35 in rubbers on my truck. Have 5in of lift now, 3in body/2in susp., and can only run 31x10.50s. Garbage!!! So I am looking to start a new project. A solid axle swap from my 2wd to a 4x4 running somewhere in the 35 in range. I know I can have leafs custom made but dont really know what axle to throw up front. As of measurements, width, etc. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Get a Dana 44 out of an old Wagoneer.
If you only want to do light offroading (not rockcrawling) get a Dana 30 or 35 out of a CJ or YJ or XJ. They have upgrade kits for stronger axles (internals). Most jeep guys upgrade to dana 44's or 60's so they scrap the Dana 30's and 35's
Since your Gen I is light I think you'd have no problems with the smaller axle and they are cheap. Once you have the suspension setup it would be an easy swap to a Dana 44 later if you want the extra strength.

Thanks for the info. Its so overwhelming trying to sort this all out. I was thinking of cutten all the stock suspension componets out and running a full leaf spring suspension. I figured thatd be easier to deal with as well as cheeper. How hard is 2 mounts per spring and then 4 "U" bolts. But then my poblem is with the steering. Donno what to do. Maybe an old Jeeps steering. Any help is appreciated. How mush do you guys igue a swap would be? Beng used Junkyard axles, new springs, and for now, what ever gears come with the axles. Thanks.
