Subject: Question on pricing for any dealers

Just making sure I'm getting a good deal here. I'm planning on finalizing the deal on my Sport 4x4 Quad cab tomorrow, just want some reassurance that I'm getting a pretty good deal.

Here's the package. New 2003 Sport Plus Quad Cab. (Graphite)

> Next Generation 4.7-liter Magnum(R) V8 Engine
> Five-Speed Manual Heavy-Duty Transmission
> 3:92 Ratio Rear Axle
> Part-time 4 Wheel Drive
> P265/70R16 OWL All-Terrain Tires
> Sound System with AM/FM Radio, Cassette and In-Dash CD Player
> Six Remote Audio Controls Located On Steering Wheel
> Eight Infinity(R) Speakers in Six Locations
> Vehicle Security System
> Leather Interior Group
> Bucket Seats
> Power Overhead Convenience Group
> Six-Way Power Driver's Seat
> Power Heated, Foldaway Mirrors
> Heavy-Duty Service Group
> Four-Wheel Disc Antilock Brakes
> Limited-Slip Rear Differential Axle
> Electric Rear Window Defroster
> Engine Block Heater
> Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
> Trailer Tow Group

All for right around $26,600.
Plus the dealer is throwing in a Line-X lining (spray in liner, around $400 if you buy it from the shop yourself) and rear floor mats ($40, but hey, every little bit helps).
If any of you know how good of a deal it is, let me know! I know I'm not getting ripped off, just checking to see if anybody's gotten a better deal. I've checked two other deals and this is the best I've had. From my calculations the dealer should be making right around 4% profit. Thanks again!

What is MSRP? (I would know, but I've never seen a stick with leather).
The difference btw invoice and MSRP is about 6%, usually about $1600, plus a holdback of about $685. Take MSRP, subtract about $2285 and the rebate, that is a true "no profit" deal. They should have SOME profit of course. (remember, paying invoice is still a profitable deal!)

I bought a similar 2003 Quad for 29k minus $300 commerical cust, $420 preferred cust, $1500 Dodge rebate, $500 Farm (thanks guys) rebate. You are getting a good deal
2003 Quad SLT+ Graphite monotone paint
5.9 V8 4 spd auto
Leather
power drivers seat
Tow package
heavy duty service group
sliding rear window
am/fm cassete/cd
infinity speakers
steering wheel radio control (real cool)
part time 4wd
overhead conv. group
power heated mirrors (look like Dumbo)
ect.
the only options I didn't get was the engine block heater,
rear defrost(sliding window instead)
full time 4wd
I also got the factory aluminum tubeular side steps, bed liner and soft tarneau.
If they offer it get the Simonize system 3 I believe it is called. My paint looks 100% better than the Daks i've seeen and stays cleaner longer.

MSRP is $30,470.00 The line-x liner, like I said, would normally be $400 (we got one last summer in the other truck). Plus $40 for the rear floor mats, so altogether MSRP should be about $30,910.00

According to your equation...
$30,910-$2285.00-$2000.000=$26625. Well, I'm getting it for $26,6000, so not a bad deal! Thanks for the help guys.

Sounds good, I liked the truck at $26,600, but just found it for 25,800 from another dealer. Just shows it's the perfect time to buy!

DakotaDan.... fellow Dan here,
HOw much was the 5.7 Hemi Ram?
I was checking out the Rams before they put the Hemi on there a few days ago. They still wanted like $30,000 + for a nice Ram
But DAMN those new Rams look sweet!!!!!

I thought about the Hemi Ram for all of about thirty minutes. I figured, let's see, I could get a really nice engine in a stripped down two door model Ram, or I could get a completely decked out four door dakota.
It's all personal preference, but the fact that the hemi isn't available in anything but automatic on the 1500 Ram model was a definite deal sealer on the decked out Dakota. No contest.
And just a personal preference thing, but man I hate the front end on the new Rams. Figured I'd better get my Dakota before they put that thing on the Daks too!
