Mine is worth $18,720, unfortunately I still owe $20,000 on it

The thing I don't like about KBB or any others is the fact that they don't have any kind of....

over head convenience group
5900# GVWR
3.92 gears WITH LSD
Line-x spray in bed liner

it's just toooo generic, I custom ordered my 2002 with EVERY heavy duty option that was available, and I think mine is worth a little more than what they show, because the lack of info on the site.

You can't tell me my trucks value doesn't go up because I have the convenience group and all the others that are listed. At least I think it would be worth more.

btw...
I sooo want to trade it in for a 4x4 QC 1500 HEMI

Line-X over the rail
Grille-Tech Grill Insert
Clear Corners
Krypton 4300K Lights
H - Brew Intake
Dual Exhaust
Autolite Plugs
TPS Mod
180 R-Shaw T-stat
Removed Rubber Flap
Mobil - 1
JVC KD-SX980 MP3 Player

Yeah, I know...my used value came up at $12,735...ONLY about $2K less than what I owe on it. :-( I've still got less than 3000 miles on my truck, too. I don't know...that'd be a tough call. I'm sure I'd fall in love with the Ram, but the Dak really is a nice truck, and does everything that I need it to do...heck, I don't even know if the Ram would fit in my garage!

You really are trying to torture me with that link, aren't you Dan? ;-)

Come on buddy your going to have to quit sitting on those parts, it's time to get that TB and intake on, let the RR's sit for a while. That should cure your thirst for more power hehehe......... Don't tell me if you went out and bought a new Glock or Ruger that you'd let it sit for months without shooting it !

********************************************

I was just reading a article about the 5.7 hemi getting 10% better mpg than the 5.9 that it's replacing, that will put it at or maybe just a little better than the 4.7 V8

You think our V6 Dakotas are low powered, I've been searching the dealer inventory's and have found QuadCab 1500 RAM's with a 3.7 V6 in them !!!!!!! Can you say SLED...........

Yeh but to put the 5.7 hemi and an automatic where that 3.7 5-speed was on the Ram is now only a $2000 option. So take those Rams you were looking at and add $2000 to figure out what the Hemi costs in the same pickup (assuming they were manuals, it would only be $1200 more on an already automatic truck.) Remember there is a $2000 rebate on Rmas as well! I thought about a Quad Cab and also the 4x4 but each of those options costs as much as that Kenny-bell will probably end up costing! Then you just got all that extra weight to move around. The 4x4 would be nice when pushing 500 hp, but I bet the transfer case in a 1500 Ram won't hold up long to 500 hp!

Hahahahaahaa!

18,778! for a RC 1500 w/5.7 from Maxwell Dodge here in Austin - Your payments would be under $400!!!! Now I just need to get rid of mine!

I've got the paper work - actually that's if someone wants to buy one w/me. Basically the salesguy said you bring someone else in that wants to buy one (any truck), and I'll get that deal,,,if the other person is buying the same truck, he'll get that deal too!

What you get:
'03 RC 1500 Ram
No pwr anything :)
3.92 LS (or 4.10's - the sales guy seemed to think they were changing the gears)
Basically the ST package - which is all I want.

If someone is serious let me know. I'll scan in the documents later,,but they're in my hand.

Can anyone find a better price through their local dealer? They say Texas always gets trucks first since they sell more here. If you ordered it, it would be arriving in early Jan.

Hey Dan! OUCH!! You yell at me like my Momma used to! Since you mentioned it, I did buy a new Smith & Wesson .357 Mag revolver about 10 years ago, and it took me a few months to get around to shooting it, but that was only because I bought a Taurus 9mm auto at the same time, and I shot it and some other guns that I had while teaching a handgun class, before I had a chance to take the Smith out on its own. So, see...I have a lot of experience at practicing restraint, hehehe...it drives my wife absolutely crazy. BUT, I might have to take you up on your advice, even I'm getting a bit antsy at how slow the miles seem to be going on the Dak. I wanted to do the rockers and the plug wires first, then work my way "UP" to the TB and intake...but I think I'm gonna go ahead and do those two, since they can both be done in about an hour or so. I've already made the "S" bolt for the TB, and fit the airhat to the F&B...I'll let you know when it happens.

I finally got to take some pics of my truck in some nice sunny weather today, so I'll be posting those in my gallery on dodgetruckworld.com pretty soon.

I'd actually like to see a Dak with the 3.7 in it...215HP as opposed to 175...that's got to help. You're right, though, I wouldn't be interested in a Ram with the 3.7, especially a QC! Why would anyone spring for a full size Ram, and then put a puny engine in it? Doesn't make sense to me...

I was walking through a dealer's lot today after lunch...the only truck that I saw that I'd be interested in...RC SLT shortbed...was in the showroom. It was a silver 4x4, and was sitting on 20's. It looked nice. I saw some QC's in the lot (no HEMIS anywhere, though), and the bedrails on those things hit me at chest high, and I'm 6' tall. Massive trucks. I don't think that I could get one in the garage and have room for the wife's Rodeo...might just have to stick with the Dak, and get those parts on it, like you said ;-) Still nice to dream, though...P

ZenDak, don't pass up the "regular cab value group." For under $400 you get Cruise, tilt, CD, Cloth seat, and chrome wheels. I'd also get the tow package which includes a tranny cooler and heavy duty engine cooling which may be inportant for mods later and only costs a little over $400 now. I priced out a ST like you said but also with the two things I mentioned, and rear slider and front carpeting. The price after rebates ($2000 standard and $500 farm) was $18,300 but that also included the $500 farm rebate (you should also think about that as it only cost $40 to join, and you only have to be a member 30 days.) That deal was Dave Smith motors in Idaho (www.usaautosales.com) but the local Dodge dealer here said they would match it. I've hear some people's 1500 hemis are in a "hold" status at the factory which probably means they are short on some specific part. January ain't looking to goo for custom orders placed now. The best bet if you wantone in January would be to just go down and take a dealer stock truck. They will probably mostly be Quad 4x4s but you never know if a stripper ST RC will show up.

I seriously doubt I would be lucky enough to find a RC Hemi that wasn't special ordered for some time to come.

When you say 'Farm' are talking about an Agricultural discount? - Cause 'Technically' my place is a farm, and I take advantage of that come tax time.
The stereo I always handle,,and besides, I have the CD/Tape deck that came out of my '01 Dak sitting in my room,,,drop in replacement for whatever isn't in the Ram I get,,that would tide me over for a while. The rear sliding glass is a definite must have in a Reg. cab though,,,Thanks for reminding me of it, I almost forgot.

Ya, I after looking at the paperwork mine would be the same price too w/that 'farm' rebate you're talking about.
Need to check that out.....

Its the farm Bureau rebate. You have to join the local Farm Bureau and then after 30 days you can get a certificate from them that's good for $500 more off most Dodge cars and trucks. I joined in 2001 when I was going to order a Dakota, but just kept the membership going. They also fight for personal property rights in congress so there's another reason I'm all for them. You could live in an apartment in NYC and still be a member of the Farm Bureau!
