I think I got a probleme!!!

black smoke only when i start the beast. Out from the pipe. i got a 3.9 4x4 1998 and never
neded oil, no leak no probleme..

can someone help me pleaze...

Normally black smoke indicates a very rich fuel condition.
Blue smoke in indicative of excessive oil in the exhaust.
White is usually associated with water(steam).
Hope this helps.

If you only see black smoke (actually blue) when you initially start the motor, then it goes away...its your valve seals. When you shut the motor down, the oil trickles down the valve stem, past the seal, and into the combution chamber. So when it starts...poof...blue smoke, looks like your burning oil, but just for a minute.
