How important is the lower driverside heatshield that is tack welded to my y pipe? Am i going to have any adverse affects if i rip it off? Cause the bottem weld has broken and now it rattles like a mother and it is driving me nuts.

I am not remembering where the starter is but if that heat sheild is anywhere near it, do not remove it. If the starter gets too hot the insulation in the windings gets too hot it melts then the windings short out and then the starter no longer works.

My 94 does the same damn thing. But I'm to lazy to fix it. Besides it adds to the sleeper effect

Hose clamp....good idea!

Cory, as for the sleeper effect, i suppose but you should not forget the POS effect that accompanies it.

Thanks
Brian
