Anybody have a snowplow mounted on their Dakota, if so how does it do and how much did you pay. My dad and I are thinking of having one put on my truck to plow the driveway and the parking lot of our office, we got a quote from Blizzard for 3200 and that seemed like alot.

Woah! That better be a damn nice snow plow. Even for a heavy duty poly V-plow with all the accessories, joystick, and hydraulics, and built in latte machine barely touches that. I don't know how large your office is, but I wouldn't think you would need something as advanced as what they are wanting to sell you. You just need a basic straight plow. I've heard Arctic's Standards work pretty good if you're doing something small like you are. You could probably even find a used one.

That one came with power mount, joystick controls all of the goodies, but still that's a ton of money, I am going to talk to a couple of other places today to see what kind of prices they have

Yeah, there's the reason then. You really do get that you pay for on them. Once you start adding all the neat stuff it tends to get on the high side. Just gotta ask yourself, do I really need a joystick?? Although, some kind of quick easy release would probably be a priority above anything else in your situation.

I bought a used 6.5' Meyers blade, complete with pump, lights, joystick, all was like new..... except it was off of something else. Paid $550 for everything, then had to buy a new harness to fit the Dakota and it ran me about $700 CDN. The truck is a '94 the only other thing I did was change the torsion bars to larger diameter bars.

snowplows will tear up your truck. They should go on at least a 3/4 ton truck, perferably a 1 ton.

Jim is right too. There is a bit more wear on your vehicle if you use a plow. I think in the owner's manual it says it's not designed to be a snow plow vehicle. Doesn't mean you can't, but most people where I'm at use and old beater F250 or something.

I was just checking it out all I would probably use it for was the driveway at home, but I am going to look at a 79 chevy with a plow mounted for 1200 bucks. Also I agree that plows can tear up a truck that's why I was looking for one that had a quick release so I could drop it and not have to lug it around everywhere
