I have a 2002 Dakota SXT Extended Cab. I'm looking around for exhaust. My best one so far is for a Dual exit Flowmaster for $220 + price of the tips I want. Is this a good deal? Also, is Flowmaster even a good manufacturer? One more question, will getting this exhaust system effect my fuel consumption any, like will I get less or more miles per tank of gas?? Thanks

From my experiences flowmasters have been good mufflers. Here in my area i have been pricing exhaust systems. For a custom job from the cat all the way back with a 40 series flowmaster single in and dual out with stainless steel tips out the rear is around $350-$380. As far as gas mileage goes, i dont think it will change it too much. If anything it may go down a bit because most people like hearing the exhaust so they're always putting down the pedal to hear it, lol. Hope this helps ya.

I'm going to assume you have the 4.7L engine. A cat back exhaust will not help much at all, and on my roomates truck actually decreased his fuel mileage. My personal recomendation is the SpinTech cat back exhaust. I think Flowmasters aren't worth the hype and every other car on the raod uses tham as well. be different. www.spintechmufflers.com

The Flowmaster mufflers just make you truck loud. No performance gains. If you want Performance and a good sound thats not that loud, get a Gibson, Borla, or Bullet. I prefer the bullet, its polished Stainless Steel and is a little less expensive than the Borla and Gibson.
