Ron,

Ashtray? Oh well. I guess you use yours.

Fan only on high, it's the resister, it's in the cab under the passenger dash board. Even you could porbably change it.

Tranny problems, autos, oh well. Has it ever been serviced? How many miles on your 2000?

My 2001 has been a dream come true.

Overdue to change the tranny filter ? Might help to know which tranny you have.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Transmission issue could be related to the fluid draining out of the torque converter while sitting. I read somewhere that there is a drainback valve in the torque converter that leaks in some of the Dakotas. My '04 Dakota 4.7L has had the problem since day 1. I've just learned to wait about 15-20 seconds before driving off when it happens. It has not affected the transmission in any way and is just an annoyance.

So your having a few minor problems with a 7 year old truck? I fail to see how that's a quality problem. They don't stay new forever, at some point your going to have to fix something.
