the only thing I've done recently was install the AutoLite plugs....I can't find anything not grounded....

any suggestions?....

Static electricity, cool weather dragging butt across seat will cause it, hold on to metal part of door while placing foot on ground.

I had the same thing happen to me as well. It is called static electricity.

Spray Fabreeze on your seats and place a fabric softener sheet under each of the seats. Not only will your truck smell pretty, but it really does help with the build up of static electricity from using the heater in the cold weather.

LOL, that static electricity is a biotch in the winter months. I remember once walking into a 7-11 store and grabing the door handle only to darn near get knocked on my a$$ from such a big shock.

Yep, static electricity...just sliding out of the driver's seat will create static voltages that can go up into the hundreds of thousands of volts...just very little current. Still enough to give you a nice little jolt, though. Grab onto the door latch rail with one finger while you exit the car, or just use the palm of your hand to touch the door once you're out...that's what I do. You'll hear the "snap", but the discharge isn't concentrated into a small area like it is with your fingertip(s), so it doesn't hurt.

My truck doesn't have this problem, but my family's Excort does. Lil bugger zaps me EVERY time I get out of the car. I now use my shoe to close to door or anything I am holding. Just don't use a coke, I did that earlier this week and I still got a jolt. I could even see the zap travel from the car to the can.

I used to have that problem real bad in my Oldsmobile. Being that I was getting tired of nearly getting knocked on my a$$ everytime I got out of the car when it was cold and dry out, I started holing the ignition key nice and tight, stepping out of the car, and touching an innner part of the door with the tip of the key just before I closed it. That way, the spark happens between the key and the door, and being that there is very little current, you don't feel anything. However I'm finding that doesn't work so well in the Dak. As I'm getting out I manage to brush against the nerf bars, and now my leg gets shocked (right thru the pants!!) before I have a chance to do the key thing first. Bottom line is, cold weather and winter suck.
