My wife has a 98 r/c with the 2.5L4/5 speed, I bought it used so I have no manual for it.My question is, can anyone tell me off the top of their head what typ of trany this is, cast# or some kind of way to identify which one it is, Ive been under the truck but could not locate any #'s. Also what would u sugest for oil, and where is the fill plug. I've found the drain. any help on this would be greatly appreciated, it's been drivin me nuts for some time now. Thanx in advance....

Call the parts department at your local Dodge dealer. They can run your VIN through the computer and tell you what kind of transmission you have. I had to do that to find out if I had an AX15 or NV3500 Transmission. I bet you have an AX15. Just a guess though.
