Just go to your local dealership and look at a 03 Dakota CC. They don't have the black vinly piece anymore. I personally think it looks better with it. Because once the front windows are tinted it looks alot cleaner.

Putting decals on or taking them off is a time-honored Detroit way of taking an old model and making it look fresh. They did the same thing with the Gen II Daks towards the end.

Yes it is painted underneath. I dont have a scanner but look at a RC Dakota it is the same door. They put the sticker on due to tinted windows on the club cab windo to make it look like the window is a lot longer. I peeled mine and it looks great. Sorry no picture.

Here's a pic of an 03 Red Dakota beside my Intense Blue Dakota. Look and compare between the 2 Daks. With the front windows tinted, it looks sharp, that's why I like the black sticker in the middle.

It takes time to peel it off. I used a hair dryer.
then when I was done peeling. I started with the left over glue. It took a while but it was worth it.

I also have painted to match sloted covers for the rear side windows. Love the look with the painted to match vent visors too. Next getting painted to match mirrors and the USA 3rd brake lite cover painted to match too.

Does anyone know where to find a replacement? My
passenger side vinyl piece got damaged from a
buffer. I really like the look of them on my truck
and don't want a scuffed up looking passenger side
window anymore!
