Subject: Spare airhat?
IP: Logged

Message:
I need a spare stock airhat for a 2002 V6...anybody have one laying around in decent shape (I don't mind dirt, just no cracks or broken units) that they'd like to get maybe $20 for? I don't want to go to the junkyard if I don't have to. My email is lfavand@swbell.net Thanks!...P

I have an extra K&N FIPK air tube and an extra stock air hat.

I also have a K&N stock replacement air filter.

All my stuff is from a 2001 5.9.

Where are you located?

Dakaty, I'm in Belton, MO...zip code 64012. I've got an F&B throttle body to install, and the stock airhat has to have the locating tabs trimmed out of it to work with it, so I'm looking for a spare airhat that I can keep with the stock TB in case I need to switch back to it for some reason. I've got an Intense intake for it also, so I'd just be needing the stock airhat. If you're interested in selling the airhat for $20 or $25, shoot me an email at lfavand@swbell.net. Thanks for replying!...P

I removed the tabs you are talking about from mine when I installed my Holly TB. Removing the tabs won't prevent you from using it with a stock TB.

Carefully cut the tabs off with a "razor knife". Then place a sheet of fine/medium grit sand paper on a flat surface, put the air hat on the sand paper and rub in a circular motion to smooth out the rough edges.

Save your money and modify the one you have.

Dakaty, thanks for the heads up. Your solution sounds pretty reasonable, I'll probably go that route. Thanks for watching my back!...P
